Artist Bio
Rachel Marie Kimball received her BA in Dance Education (K-12) from Brigham Young University (BYU), and spent the following six years working as a BTS Arts dance integration coach for the Nebo School District. During that time and for the following year, she enjoyed being a member of the BYU Arts Partnership Leadership Team and Native American Curriculum Initiative (NACI). Through NACI, Rachel was humbled and delighted to collaborate with Native American tribal leaders and artists of the eight sovereign nations in Utah while working to amplify Native voices and arts in everyday educational practices.
Rachel is a certified life coach through dance with Promethean Spark International, which has provided her with opportunities to expand her work internationally as a dance educator, connecting her with students and educators in countries such as India, Ghana, Rwanda, Uganda, and Morocco. She has also enjoyed dancing and being culturally immersed in Mexico, Guatemala, Denmark, Hungary, and most recently Chile. Through her domestic and international work, Rachel is an enthusiastic supporter of culturally responsive and inclusive arts for all ages, presenting diversity with accuracy and authenticity.
Rachel has presented at the Utah NAME Conference (2019, 2020), the Learning Edge Conference (2019), BYU Arts Express (2019, 2021, 2022), and the Utah Dance Education Organization (UDEO) Conference (2021), at which she also received one of the awards for Dance Educator of the Year. She has also served on the board of directors for Utah daCi (2017-2020), UDEO (2021-2022), and Promethean Spark International (2022-2024).
“And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music.”
